Well, it’s the last post of 2025. I’ve lost track of what day it is, have been eating Christmas cookies for breakfast, and have listened to enough Bing Crosby for the season. So, let’s see what shows are coming through Philly to ring in the New Year. Never been to a NYE show? You’re in for a treat. Dress cozy or go to the nines, but make sure you are wearing your dancing shoes, because you’re in for a good time.
Starting out on the Main Line, @lowcutconnie rings in 2026 at @ardmoremusichall . I saw these fine folks a couple NYEs ago and it was MAGIC. Looking for a bite or drink before the show? Check out @tiredhandsbrewing , @izzys_ardmore , or @theripplewood . Moving downtown, Philly fav @snacktime plays @bbowlphilly . Have some fun at @barcade before the show, or try to snag a res at @wmmulherinssons for dinner. And last but certainly not least, @kindredthefam performs at @citywineryphil (two shows: 7p and 10:30p). Enjoy dinner and drinks with the show, or pop over to Chinatown beforehand (@bananaleafphilly , @penang_philly , and Pho Xe Lau are all great). We’re winding down 2025, and this is always a strange time of year for shows. But, here in Philly, we’re lucky to have a few artists who are giving us multiple nights of incredible performances.
@actualbenfolds performs his holiday show for a two-night run at @citywineryphil Tuesday and Wednesday December 16-17. Get there a bit early for happy hour from 4-7 (50% off wine on tap). Continuing the night-night run trend, @thefrontbottoms take the stage at @fillmorephilly Friday and Saturday December 19-20. Fill up on bbq at @fettesaubbq before heading over to the venue. And then returning this year for their A Drugcember to Remember, @thewarondrugs returns to @johnnybrendas for a three-night run Thursday through Saturday, December 18-20. All three shows instantly sold out, but you can sign up for the waitlist. I’m personally crossing my fingers for a little show luck so I can snag a ticket myself. I’d plan on arriving early and grabbing a bite at the bar before heading into the show. We’ll be taking the week of Christmas off, but we’ll be back for one final post of the year with some NYE show plans for those who are still undecided. Head a few blocks north to @tworobbersfishtown for a hard seltzer and smash burger (seriously, some of the best in the city) before heading into the venue. And wrapping us up, @rhettmiller play @118northwayne in Wayne Friday, December 12. While this show is (unsurprisingly) very sold out, you can sign up for waitlist and hope for a Friday miracle. Miller is also playing @wxpnfm Free at Noon earlier that day at @ardmoremusichall.
