 I’m in Vegas at the moment, but there are still plenty of great shows coming through Philly this week. If I was in town, these are the three I’d have on my radar.
@benkweller plays @undrgroundarts tonight, Monday, April 21. I’ve been listening to his recent clips on Instagram, and it’s going to be a great show. Go! And grab a brew before the show at @lovecitybrewing @rhettmiller takes the stage at @worldcafelive Wednesday, April 23. He puts on a terrific set, and you won’t regret the ticket. Grab some food upstairs before heading down to the Music Hall for the show. And then on Thursday, April 24, @therealcheekface plays The Foundry (upstairs of @fillmorephilly) The last time I saw Cheekface, I was headed to Italy the next day. This time, they’re playing the day after I arrive back in Philly. Perhaps they’re my perfect bookend to a great trip, or it’s just wildly coincidental—the jury is out. Either way, go to this show and get ready to have a fun time. See if you can snag a res at @laserwolf_philly for tasty bites before the show.  I write this after a late night staying out to see @bearvsshark at @uniontransfer HECK of a show. Luckily for you, some more great shows are headed to the Philly area this week.
Bluegrass/soul/blues artist @thevaleriejune plays the Music Hall at @worldcafelive this Tuesday, April 15. I haven’t personally had the pleasure of seeing her perform live, but I can only imagine hearing that voice in person. Stop in @walnutstcafe beforehand for Golden Hour. Wednesday, April 16, @lucydacus (with @katiegavs and @jasmine.4.t ) take the stage at @themetphilly The show is sold out, but resale tix are available. It’s an early start, but grab a bite beforehand at @osteriaphilly I’ll be fan-girling from the pit. Who else will be there? Same venue @themetphilly but a few days later, @brighteyesofficial comes through Philly Saturday, April 19. I’ve heard the Chicago show was incredible, and I’m sure this will be no different. Spend the late afternoon playing mini golf and grabbing bites at @liberteegrounds before heading to Broad St. So who are you seeing this week? #jawn #jams #phillymusic  This week’s roundup includes a few nostalgia feels, but all artists I haven’t had the pleasure to see before. @franz_ferdinand plays @fillmorephilly on Tuesday, April 8. If you’re in the neighborhood early, stop by @jerrysbarphilly for happy hour 4p -7p. A specialty cocktail pitcher for $20…need I say more? @alessiasmusic takes the stage at the @keswicktheatre on Wednesday, April 9. Enjoy a greek dinner before the show at Elia just down the street. And don’t skip a piece of the baklava! And @snowpatrol plays Saturday, April 12 at @themetphilly . A friend saw this show last week in Chicago at the @saltshedchicago , and said it was incredible. Take a stroll down Fairmount Ave and pop in @bar_hygge beforehand (highly recommend making a Hygge board). Any other shows you’re looking forward to this week? |
